CDC Business Meeting 12-2-07

 

Meeting was called to order. 

Minutes from the last meeting have been posted.  TJ Moore made a motion minutes be accepted as posted.  David Forbes seconded the motion.  Motion approved.

Profit and Loss statements for August, September, and October were handed out to those present.  TJ made a motion statements be accepted as presented.  Lacinda Files seconded the motion.  Motion approved.

 

Old Business

Thanks to Terry Luther for installing the new garbage disposal.

Update on parking lot pot holes that need to be filled in.  TJ said it had rain had not gotten to do this yet.  He said if the weather is nice next holiday he will do it.

Jeff Wood put the Floor machine in the star shopper for sale ad, no hits as of yet.

Debbie Allen asked Lacinda Files if she asked around about free advertising.  Lacinda said she hadn’t asked around yet.

 

Christmas party: December 14^th, at 8pm.  Pot luck, open coke machine, white elephant gifts and Terry Luther will teach a barn dance.  Then open dancing till everyone is ready to go home.

 

New Business

Membership down from last year and the year before, questions and ideas were tossed around about why.  Out of all the discussions and ideas came the idea to put a Comment Box on the front table for those who come to dance classes to put in ideas, comments and suggestions on whatever they choose to share with the dance club.  These comments will be read at each business meeting for discussion.

A suggestion of doing an intermediate dance class for couples was discussed at lengths.  Lacinda made a motion to do an intermediate dance class on Sunday night from 7pm to 8:30pm, with the first class being January the 6^th at 7pm.  All instructors will have a chosen night to teach the turn or turns of their choice.

 

Lacinda Files has said she would do up the comment box and have it at the dance club Monday night 12-3-07.

Next business meeting set for January 6^th at 4pm, at this meeting there will be a ballot voting for President of the Dance Club between Debbie Wood and Lacinda Files.  Also at this meeting there will be nominations for Board of Directors for 2008.

 

Gerald Dunham made a motion meeting to adjourn, Vicki Trout seconded the motion.  Motion approved.
