CDC Business Club Meeting 8/27/06
Debbie Wood called the meeting to order. She asked the minutes be read from the last meeting. Jeff Wood made a motion the minutes be accepted as posted. TJ Moore seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Profit and Loss statement for June and July were handed out and looked over by all in attendance. TJ made a motion to accept the P & L statements as presented. Susan Russell seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Debbie Wood asked Debbie Allen if the By-laws were ready for proof reading by Lacinda Files. Debbie Allen stated she would email Lacinda the By-laws to be proof read and then copies would be made and given to board members.
Special Thanks to Randy Bush for donating the electrical supplies to put up the lights on the back of the building.
Debbie Wood also thanked everyone who came to club clean up and the putting up of the sign on the back of the building.
TJ Moore made a motion to give the large floor cleaning machine in the store room away to whomever would like to have it. David Forbes seconded the motion. Motion approved.
TJ Moore made a motion that dance instructors no longer be required to pay admission each week. Profits are up from when the motion was passed asking the instructors to donate by paying one night of the week. Susan seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Discussion of fixing the pot holes in the parking lot. Jeff Wood said he would call Ms Baskett about it, and inquire if she will pay for the materials to fix it. TJ made a motion to spend $200.00 for materials to fix pot holes in parking lot if Ms Baskett doesn’t. Lacinda Files seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Main topic of today’s meeting was the Friday nights social dance on the 3rd Friday night of each month. The first Friday night dance was in July, August was the second one. Both nights it was the same group of people showed up, everyone who came had a great time, but to continue the social dance each month we need more people to come and support the club in this adventure. Several suggestions and ideas were tossed around and discussed on how to bring more to the social. All ideas were good which included bringing finger foods, drinks, popping popcorn, hanging flyers for all to see, and putting it on the radio advertising each week. GerryLynn Applegarth and Lacinda Files volunteered to be a committee to promote the Friday night Social dance. This will work with EVERYONE’S support and participation.
October 20th, the 3rd Friday night of the month will be the Halloween party. TJ Moore has agreed to be in charge of the games again this year. Thank you TJ. Debbie Wood OK’d up to $150.00 for prizes and food for the party.
Next business meeting October 15th at 4pm.
