CDC Business Meeting 2/26/06 Debbie Wood called the meeting to order. She asked the minutes be read from the last meeting on 1/15/06. Minutes were read from the last meeting. Susan Russell made a motion the minutes be accepted as read. Gerald Dunham seconded the motion. Motion passed. Profit and Loss statement for January was discussed. Jeff Wood made a motion P & L be accepted as presented. Debbie Allen seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Old Business Raising the membership fee per year to $25.00 in 2007 was put on the table to be discussed at another time. Debbie asked Jeff and Terry if they had presented their proposals in writing to Debbie Allen for by-law changes from last meeting. These proposals are a lifetime membership for $250.00 and giving honorary memberships to whom the dance club may choose. Debbie asked about suggestions on club trips. None at this time.
New Business Liability insurance for the building being cancelled on 4/1/06, insurance company no longer insures this category. Debbie and Jeff are checking with other companies on insurance for club. The big group that rents the building on the last Saturday night of each month, wants to rent the building on the Friday night before memorial day along with their normal Saturday night. Jeff Wood made a motion if our current renters ask to rent the building two consecutive nights, first night would be $175.00, second night $100.00. If anyone new (other than dance club members )in the future (other than the two groups who rent monthly) if asking to rent the building on a special date will be asked to put up a $50.00 non-refundable deposit to secure the date which will be used towards rent. The deposit is in addition to the normal cleaning deposit. Terry Luther seconded the motion. Motion passed. Debbie thanked everyone for helping each Monday and Tuesday nights with all the large groups who have be coming to dance classes. Several ideas and suggestions were discussed to improve dance lessons and to keep attendance good. Monday night lessons will remain totally beginners for the first time dancer. Tuesday’s line up of dances at 7pm will be dances to current songs being played in the clubs. Two new dances will be taught during the given month each Tuesday, a review of the dance taught the week before and a new dance. The idea is to teach two new dances 4 times during the given month. The 6pm advance classes will NOW be beginner/intermediate with the announcement being made that everyone is welcome to attend the 6pm class at no extra charge. Next meeting set for April 30th at 4pm. Jeff made the motion that meeting be adjourned. Gerald seconded the motion. Motion passed.
