CDC Business Meeting 1-25-2009

Debbie called the meeting to order and asked the minutes from the last
meeting be read.  Jeff made a motion the minutes be accepted as posted.
David seconded the motion.  Motion passed. 

Treasurer's reports for end of year 2008 and December cash flow report were
passed out to all present.  Jeff stated that money from the cd may need to
be moved into the checking account to cover expenses for several months.
Jeff said he could offer an interest free loan to the dance club till the
end of April when the cd matured and money could be transferred from the cd
to the checking account.  Saying if money was taken from the cd now there
would be a penalty fee for withdrawing early before maturity.

David made the motion to accept Jeff's offer of an interest free loan of
$2,000.00 to the dance club till April when the cd matured.  Regena seconded
the motion.  Motion passed.

Jeff made a motion in April that the cd be renewed with $4,000.00, keeping
out the difference to pay back the interest free loan to Jeff, rest into the
dance club checking account.  As of October 1 the cd amount is $7,459.15.
No one seconded the motion for lack of interest.   Motion died.

 The discussion turned to how to save money and bring more money into the
dance club to keep being able to pay rent and expenses.  Money spent on
advertising was the main discussion.  Terry made a motion to stop the radio
advertising from March till farther notice.  Sue seconded the motion.
Motion passed.

There was also discussion of renting the building out more and advertising
on craig's list and checking with the newspaper to announce the dance
lessons on Monday & Tuesday on the community page on Friday's.

Jeff made a motion to rent the building for 6 Friday nights to a church for
fish fry beginning the last Friday in February at $50.00 per Friday night.
Terry seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

 Jeff made a motion to rent the building to Randy Bush (a member) for one
time only for a party for $75.00, with Deb given the power to change the
rental price if Randy wants to rent the building again.  Sue seconded the
motion.  Motion passed.

 Thanks to Terry for being an Officer last year and thanks for all he does
for the dance club.

 Deb stated Sandi Durham has all the paper work to do the taxes for the dance

 Suggestions were read from the suggestion box.  Line dance suggestions will
be given attention.   There was a suggestion if you come on Monday night and
you come back on Tuesday night you can get in for ½ price.

 Jeff made a motion that if you pay full price on Monday night and come back
on Tuesday night you get in for ½ price with a dated coupon.  David seconded
the motion.  Motion passed.

 February 22nd is the date for the next meeting.

 Jeff made a motion the meeting be adjourn, Terry seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
