CDC Business Meeting 1-6-08

Meeting was called to order.

Minutes from the last meeting were asked to be read. David Forbes made a motion minutes be accepted as posted. TJ Moore seconded the motion.  Motion passed.  Profit and Loss statements for November, December and the end of year Income & Expense cash flow statements for 2007 were handed out to those present and discussed.  TJ Moore made a motion Profit and Loss statements be accepted as presented. Rhonda seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Old Business:

Floor Machine ad in Star Shopper—no hits.  TJ made a motion the floor machine be put out on the curb with a free sign on it. Debbie Wood seconded the motion.

Lacinda Files was to check on free advertising, she was not present at meeting to ask.

Intermediate couples turn classes begin January 6th.  This is the line up for the month of January.

TJ Moore to teach this class.

Jeff & Deb Wood to teach on the 13th.

Gwen & David to teach on the 20th.

Terry & Karen to teach on the 27th.

 

New Officers for 2008 took over there places at this time.

Debbie Wood – President

Gwen Walker – Secretary

Jeff Wood – Treasurer

Regena Edster – Historian

Debbie Wood ask everyone to give a round of applause for those leaving offices for 2007.

 

New Business

Deb W. asked the suggestions be read out of the suggestion box.  There was one suggestion asking the Barn Dance to be taught again it was fun.

Thanks to David Forbes for making sure the water bottles stayed filled and thanks to Colette for put wheels on the stand the water machine sets on.

Deb W. asked if anyone knew of someone who does income taxes who might be willing to do the dance club taxes for a small fee.  She asked would everyone ask around.

 

Board of Director – Nominations for 2008

These will be posted for 30 days.  Si Smith was the only one not present at meeting to accept the nomination .  All others accepted the nominations.

 

Deb W. asked did anyone want the office of Treasurer, that it was thought the by-laws stated that a married couple could not serve as officers together in the same year.  So a motion was made to change the by laws to state it was okay for a married couple to serve as officers together in the same year.  Upon looking though the by-laws at the meeting, the statement about married couples not serving as officers together could not be found.  This will be checked into farther.  Motion was left open.

Deb W. asked TJ to get together a club trip to Fort Smith for the weekend of the 26th of January to a new club that is opening there.

There will be NO intermediate couples class the Sunday of Super Bowl February 3rd . 

Line dance classes scheduling was discussed.  Vicki Trout made a motion that Gwen do the line dance scheduling for a couple of months. Dorothy Millard seconded the motion.  Motion passed.  On farther discussion with Debbie Wood, she stated that she would work together with Gwen on the line dance scheduling.

Next Meeting set for February 17th at 4pm.  (THIS HAS BEEN CHANGED BY PRESIDENT DEBBIE WOOD TO FEBRUARY 24TH)

Terry Luther asked that we do a club clean up and club maintenance  two hours before the meeting.  Club clean up will be from 2pm to 4pm then the meeting afterwards.

 Debbie Allen made a motion the meeting be adjourned. Karen seconded the motion.
